Blood Test - Anti-Malignin
Antibody Screen
A new blood test for the existence or remission of cancer in
a non-terminal patient is gaining acceptance. Non-terminal means
any patients whose cancer is not in the terminal phase of the
disease. It is called AMAS and examines the levels of anti-malignin
antibody which is elevated in malignancy and returns to normal
values in cases of remission. It purports to be ninety to ninety
five percent accurate. It is considered to be an aid in diagnosis
and detection. Patients can use it as an indicator of whether
of not a treatment is working, i.e. cancer is going into remission,
or returning.
The problem is that many doctors are unaware of the test and
may not be inclined to order it. It then becomes a challenge to
either convince your doctor to order the test or find a doctor,
or walk in health clinic, that will. The test, and research information
